Again with Dreamweaver...

Looking back through all of these dreamweaver articles that are supposed to be helpful, I still sometimes find myself feeling more confused after reading them. A lot of the terms I don't understand, but I suppose that the only real way to learn them would be to work with the program more often... as much as possible, I suppose.

I think that if I can put aside some time this weekend to really sit down and look through all of these articles, as well as simply playing around with the program, and just trying to work on fixing my website design, that I can probably get a better handle on everything.

I really feel intimidated by all of this. Pretty much this whole class is intimidating... but if I can begin to understand how to use the program, even just a little bit better, I think that things will begin to go a lot better for me.

There. I'm inspired. I think I might just head down to the computer lab right now.... maybe.
:D

  1. Giving yourself a chance to build pages, even bad ones like now, see what is going on with what you are coding can really help. I know the articles all seem to speak differently about these issues, but that is from the various perspectives and experiences these authors are coming from. Your own work might be similar to one of theirs or totally your own, which means if you wrote a piece you would reveal aspects they left out. We will keep using class time though to give you a chance to explore on your own. Dreamweaver isn't the only program you can use as there are free ones like:
CoffeeCup (though it too is only a 30-day trial, but would give you some time until you can get Dreamweaver as a 30-day trial)
PageBreeze is completely free it seems
Both of these are for Windows OS, but let me know if you have a Mac. These aren't the same as what we use, but might give you more time at home to try it out.
